May 20 2024

Courteney Cox recently shared heartfelt sentiments about her late "Friends" co-star, Matthew Perry, as she reflected on the 20th anniversary of the beloved sitcom's series finale.

In an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning," Cox, who portrayed Monica Gellar alongside Perry's Chandler Bing, expressed gratitude for their years of working closely together. She revealed, "He visits me a lot, if we believe in that."

Delving into her spirituality, Cox shared, "I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that guide us. I do sense — I sense Matthew's around for sure."

Matthew Perry tragically passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. The LA County Medical Examiner's Office determined that his death was due to the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning, coronary artery disease, and the opioid buprenorphine listed as contributing factors.

Following Perry's passing, the "Friends" cast released a statement expressing their profound grief and emphasizing their bond as a family. Cox, along with Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow, mourned the loss of their dear friend and co-star.

Cox paid tribute to Perry on Instagram in November, sharing a poignant clip from their time on "Friends." She reminisced, "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share."

Reflecting on their on-screen chemistry, Cox added, "In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind."
