On this day in 2016, notorious drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was apprehended for the last time. Guzman, the head of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel, the world's largest and most influential drug trafficking organization, had twice escaped from maximum-security prison. His first escape in 2001 was through a laundry cart, and his second in 2015 was through a mile-long tunnel that began in his prison cell shower.
