This New Revenant Footage Will Be the Most Intense 30 Seconds of Your Day

After watching this new footage from The Revenant, give yourself a brief moment. Don't worry. Very calmly tell yourself that you're not wading through an ice cold river or getting dragged across frozen dirt or fighting a damn bear while rolling through the snow and underbrush. This is just 30 seconds of The Revenant, and with those low angles, the mud sloshing on the camera, the breath coming in clouds, it's enough to make you reassess your surroundings. And it looks this way because it was really this intense to film. As Leonardo DiCaprio said in October, he had to do everything from sleeping in an animal carcass to risking hypothermia during shoots. The film, directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu and starring DiCaprio and Tom Hardy, comes out December 25. Merry Christmas, you filthy animal.

Oh yeah, and the "raped by a bear" thing was a total hoax.
