Aimee Lou Wood's Fans Shocked to Discover Her Sister is a Makeup Star Too!

Fans of Aimee Lou Wood are in for a surprise as they recently discovered that they’ve been following her famous sister on social media without realizing they are siblings. Aimee, 31, who gained immense popularity this year for her emotional performance in the third season of HBO's hit murder mystery series, The White Lotus, is not the only star in the Wood family.

Her younger sister, Emily, 28, is carving out her own niche in the beauty industry. Known for her makeup tutorials and tips, Emily shares her expertise on her social media platform, emilywoodmakeup. Many fans who are into makeup may have already come across her content, but the connection between the two sisters has only recently come to light.

This revelation took social media by storm when the You Beauty podcast highlighted the striking resemblance between Aimee and Emily. They posted on their social media, “You might’ve seen @emilywoodmakeup on your FYP doing a full glam look with just a single lip liner. But did you know her sister is The White Lotus star @aimeelouwood? The Wood sisters are out here thriving.”

Fans were quick to react, with one astonished follower commenting, “No way! How cool. I love her makeup vids.” Another chimed in, “I had no idea they are so cute, the both of them.” A third fan humorously noted, “I thought it was a bit, but they’re actually sisters lol.”

Emily has also been in the spotlight recently, especially after she defended Aimee against a hurtful sketch aired on Saturday Night Live that mocked her appearance. The iconic comedy show faced backlash when they made fun of Aimee's teeth in a parody of The White Lotus. Aimee herself took to Instagram Stories to express her feelings about the sketch, stating that while she doesn’t mind being the subject of humor when it’s clever and light-hearted, there should be a more thoughtful approach to such jokes.

She expressed her disappointment, saying, “I did find the ‘SNL’ thing mean and unfunny xo. (Felt righteous, might delete later).” Aimee further elaborated, “Yes, take the p**s for sure - that’s what the show is about - but there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?” She even called out comedian Sarah Sherman’s ‘Mancunian’ accent in the sketch, insisting, “At least get the accent right, seriously, I respect accuracy even if it’s mean.”

During this time, Emily stepped up to defend her sister, leading a wave of online support for Aimee. She took to social media to share her admiration, writing, “My [world] @aimeelouwood. She is out here personifying the word POWERHOUSE. The admiration I have for this woman is nuts. Beyond comprehension.” Emily continued, “JUST like my feelings of deep animalistic protectiveness over her. The greatest big sister. My best human on the planet. Her authenticity and originality is incomparable. My god we are really madly blessed to experience life on earth at the same time as her.”

Aimee later shared a kind gesture from Sarah Sherman on her Instagram Stories, posting a photo of a bouquet of flowers sent to her by the comedian. She captioned the post, “Thank you for the beautiful flowers @sarahsquirm,” along with a series of heart emojis.

Aimee has openly discussed her distinctive teeth, even addressing them during a recent appearance on ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show. Fellow guest Stephen Fry initiated a conversation about her notable features, saying, “You’ve obviously made an enormous number of people happy by not changing your teeth. You know they’re notable like my bent nose. You obviously had a time when some people would have told you, ‘Oh, you should get those corrected,’ but you stood up for them.”

Aimee humorously replied, “I can’t believe the impact my teeth are having. The Americans can’t believe it.” This light-hearted exchange showcases Aimee's confidence and her ability to embrace her unique features.
