This documentary follows the work of Newcastle's Family Intervention Project, whose job is to help improve the lives of the area's most challenging and disruptive families. These people have had help from other authorities, such as social workers, police, housing, and education, have failed. If they don't change with the help of the FIP, they will lose their homes or children. The documentary focuses on two mothers - one whose daughter refuses to go to school and spends her time with the gangs on the estate; the other whose two youngsters are at risk of being taken into care for neglect.
