Florida Woman Accused of Killing 6-Year-Old Son in Disturbing Attempt to 'Exorcise Demons'
A mother in Fort Pierce, Florida, has been charged with murder following the tragic death of her 6-year-old son, Ra’myl Pierre. Authorities discovered the boy's remains in his bed, 12 days after he was last seen, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death.

School officials alerted law enforcement after noticing Ra’myl had not attended classes for over two weeks. Upon investigation, police found his body on a Friday, prompting immediate action against his mother, Rhonda Paulynice, who was arrested the same day.
The official cause of death is pending an autopsy, but Sheriff Richard Del Toro revealed that Paulynice believed she was instructed by God to perform an exorcism on her son. “She felt that the child had been released from those demons,” Del Toro stated during a press briefing, indicating a disturbing mindset that led to the boy's demise.

In the weeks leading up to the discovery, Paulynice engaged in erratic behavior, posting numerous religious messages on social media. Her online activity reflected a troubled state of mind, as she oscillated between emotional extremes while investigators combed through her home.
“Seeing a 6-year-old child that was killed for no other reasons other than just someone being purely evil, it’s hard,” Del Toro expressed, highlighting the community's grief over the loss of a child described as a bright light in their lives.

Prior to this incident, law enforcement had responded to the residence multiple times for domestic disputes involving Paulynice and her sister. Notably, Ra’myl was never reported to be involved in these altercations. The last police visit occurred on May 17 for a medical issue, just one day before they believe the child was killed; officers noted no apparent threats to his safety at that time.
Paulynice now faces charges including second-degree murder, failure to report a death, and altering a body. She is currently held at St. Lucie County Jail as the investigation continues.
