PASTRY chef, Catriona Kalmanovitch, from Massachusetts, weighed around 235lbs at her heaviest, and the weight was causing her pain and impacting her job. She remembers being bullied for being overweight from the age of 10. At school, she was called nicknames like ‘cow’ and ‘the blob’. Catriona told Truly: “It really made me feel like I wasn’t good enough, like there was something wrong with me." But since losing 100lbs following weight loss surgery, Catriona has found that the cruel comments continue. Instead of being fat shamed, she now gets skinny shamed. Despite the judgement, Catriona has chosen to look past the comments. She said: “This is the body and life I dreamt of and I hold onto that."
