Ariana Grande released her video for “thank u, next” in late November, setting a new YouTube record that propelled the single’s return to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Taking inspiration from early 2000s teen films such as ‘Mean Girls,’ ‘Bring It On,’ ‘Legally Blonde,’ and ‘13 Going On 30,’ the clip is directed by Hannah Lux Davis, who previous worked with Grande on the videos for “Bang Bang,” “Love Me Harder,” “Into You,” “Side to Side,” and more.
