Kirk Scroggs on The Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid and Positive Monster Influences
Oct 18 2019
Writer and Illustrator Kirk Scroggs stops by the Collider Heroes to talk about his new book The Secret Diary of Swamp Kid. He talks with hosts Amy Dallen and Coy Jandreau about how the book came about, what influenced him to write it and why it’s important to have positive monster influences in books to balance out the more darker aspects of monsters in other fare. It’s a fun, open interview about this creator’s work and the reasons why he creates the work that he does. Scroggs is the author and illustrator of Snoop Troop: It Came From Beneath the Playground, Snoop Troop: Attack of the Ninja Potato Clones, the Tales of a Sixth-Grade Muppet series, and the Wiley & Grampa’s Creature Features series.
