Ewan McGregor Says He Channeled Jack Nicholson For ‘Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep’ | Rotten Tomatoes

The world is set to return to the Overlook Hotel with the release of ‘Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep,’ based on the horror master’s sequel to his book ‘The Shining.’ The new movie stars Ewan McGregor as an all-grown-up Danny Torrance, who finds himself protecting a similarly gifted young girl (played by Kyleigh Curran) from a mysterious and evil group that feeds off of their powers. In the lead-up to the movie’s release, Rotten Tomatoes correspondent Naz Perez sat down with McGregor, Curran, director Mike Flanagan, and Rebecca Ferguson – who plays terrifying horror-icon-in-the-making Rose the Hat – to talk about bringing King’s stories and characters to life and their own scariest moments from Stanley Kubrick’s film version of ‘The Shining.’ For McGregor, the starting point for his performance was Danny’s original movie dad: the great Jack Nicholson.
