Nicole Maines plays Nia Nal on the CW's "Supergirl," a transgender superhero. Maines, who is trans herself, has been an activist for trans right since the age of 12, when her family was involved in an anti-discrimination lawsuit that made its way to the Maine Supreme Court. She stops by the Variety studio to chat with anchor Audrey Yap about advocating for a more inclusive Hollywood and what real progress looks like to her.
