Dan Stevens is a very busy guy with a flourishing career right now, but back in 2012 when he chose to leave Downton Abbey, many were shocked by the decision. (And some fans were downright outraged as the move led to the death of his character.) The show was a massive hit and showed no signs of slowing down at that point; why walk away from such a good thing?
