Jul 23 2020
As the Black Lives Matter protests began heating up, "Euphoria" star Algee Smith took to instagram where he declared he no longer wanted to take roles that showed him as a victim of police brutality. The actor joins Variety's #Represent Roundtable discussion on Black Men in Hollywood where he now claims he's given some thought to the importance behind those roles and stories. Aldis Hodge, Derek Luke, Chris Chalk, and Jay Pharoah also chime in with their thoughts on playing slaves and stereotypical thugs in Hollywood.
