The Truth About Claudia Conway's COVID-19 Diagnosis

Not too long after news broke that senior counselor Hope Hicks tested positive for coronavirus, President Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump announced that they both have the virus as well. The president took to his go-to platform, Twitter, in the early hours of October 2nd, 2020 to share, "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" Following that initial tweet, however, there's been quite a confusing jumble of updates coming out of the White House, as the timeline of the president's diagnosis has changed a bit. Not only that, but several people close to President Trump have now tested positive for COVID, including RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, Utah Senator Mike Lee, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, campaign manager Bill Stepien, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Among that list is also former White House counselor, Kellyanne Conway. And you can bet Kellyanne's daughter Claudia Conway, who's known for being outspoken about her liberal political views, has been equally open on TikTok about her mom's diagnosis. In fact, Claudia is the one who first broke the news by posting a TikTok wearing a mask and writing, "update my mom has covid." She added in the caption, "bye i'm done i'll see you all in two weeks." But has Claudia actually gotten sick, too? Or is she quarantining just as a precaution? Let's take a look at what the teen has shared about the status of her health so far. On October 4th, 2020, Claudia shared a black-and-white TikTok video from what looks like her bathtub with a distorted filter on her face. The filter isn't the only thing that's exaggerated — her caption definitely veers toward the hyperbolic. Claudia wrote on the video, "hey guys currently dying of covid!" as Zach Farache's song "The Loser" strums in the background. Over in the video's comments section, Claudia shared even more details about what was going on. She wrote, "my mom has no symptoms yet i literally feel like HELL" and she encouraged her followers to "please manifest [her] recovery." For what it's worth, the teenage Conway currently has 1 million followers on her verified TikTok page, so that could be a massive amount of positive vibes going her way. As for the specifics of her coronavirus symptoms, Claudia wrote, "cant feel anything. head is pounding. hard to breathe. fever/chills." It's unclear whether she's been formally diagnosed by a doctor, but her health updates — as well as her mom's positive diagnosis — seem to speak for themselves. In another video, while wearing a mask, Claudia expressed frustration and shared a blunt reminder to stay safe, writing: "im furious. wear your masks. dont listen to our idiot f--king president piece of s--t. protect yourselves and those around you." Of course, Claudia Conway is very well-aware of the glaring spotlight on her TikTok page. Not only is 1 million followers a ton of people on the platform, but she knows that anything she posts is bound to make headlines and thus reach even more. Claudia posted another video following her mom's positive COVID diagnosis — which led to her name once again trending on Twitter. That led to Claudia posing a question of her own to the media. She also jokingly posted a separate TikTok, pretending to rapidly click at her phone screen with a caption that reads, "me deleting all my problematic tiktoks before i end up on fox news again." And in another clip, she predicted that the Daily Mail would wind up sharing her video about Kellyanne's health on their site the next day. "Guys, I'm calling it now, I'm predicting it. This is gonna be on Daily Mail tomorrow on Snapchat." Sure enough, the U.K. tabloid did write an article about Claudia's video. While she's proven time and time again just how social media-savvy she is, Claudia definitely deserves as much privacy as possible beyond what she chooses to share publicly, especially since she is so young and never asked to be famous.
