Skai Jackson was born in Staten Island, New York in 2002, but at nine years old, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Skai Jackson's career began early — very early. She got started with print modeling at just nine months old before moving onto acting in commercials at just one year of age. Fostering her career wasn't necessarily easy, though. Jackson told Entertainment Tonight in 2019 that she and her family were going through a financial struggle when she was young, and they didn't always know if they would have the money to make it to her auditions.
