But Barron wasn't packing up his digs at Trump Tower immediately after dad Donald took office. According to Politico, Donald and Melania Trump didn't want to pull Barron out of school in the middle of the year. So instead of moving right after the January 2017 inauguration, Barron and his mother waited until that June to make the jump. At the time, some experts believed Barron's presence would lend a level of normalcy to the White House. It may have also been a strategy to save taxpayer money. According to The Hill, it cost the NYPD between $127,000 and $146,000 a day to provide security for Barron and Melania.
