Matthew McConaughey's Son Looks Just Like The Famous Actor
Dec 02 2020
It looks like Matthew McConaughey has a future stunt double. Fans got a rare look at the McConaughey clan in October, 2020 when the actor's wife Camila Alves McConaughey shared an updated photo of their son, Levi. From the looks of it, McConaughey's genes are exceedingly strong.
From their hair to their facial expressions, it's quite scary how much the two resemble one another. In the Instagram photo, Camila and Levi appear to be enjoying a mother and son bonding moment over a batch of cookies. The lifestyle guru captioned the snap,
"The look on our faces says it all [...] It's been a week full of celebration with [Matthew McConaughey]’s [Greenlights] book release so we had an excuse to make this amazing dessert. Judges at home give it a 10/10!"
Followers filled the comments with adoration for McConaughey's lookalike, Levi. One commenter joked,
"Wow if that isn't a Brazilian Matthew McConaughey."
Another wrote,
"Omg that's a mini Mathew McConaughey right there."
It's not every day that we get a look at the McConaughey family. Despite his decades-long film career, Matthew McConaughey's biggest accomplishment is being a father. Outside of twinning with his son Levi, the actor has two more kids, son Livingston and daughter Vida. In an interview with Good Morning America, McConaughey explained that he knew he wanted to be a father at an early age. He said,
"In my 8-year-old mind, what I noticed at that time, was every man that I had said 'sir' to — the common denominator was they were all fathers, and I remember saying, 'That's when you've made it. That's when you've succeeded in life, when you become a father.'"
And McConaughey's love for fatherhood hasn't changed. In February 2020, the True Detective actor admitted he would like to expand his family. He said to the crowd at a HISTORYTALKS panel,
"I'd like to have eight more kids [...] My wife's not on the same page."
Even though they're not having eight kids any time soon, McConaughey remains enthusiastic about instilling values in his children and he takes the job seriously. McConaughey and his wife also intend to raise their three children out of the spotlight, as he told E! News,
"Sometimes loving your kids means giving them just what they want [...] Other times it means tough love. Affluent people can give their kids everything they want, but they're not usually going to get what they need. Loving a child is a lot harder if you really give a damn. 'No' takes a lot more energy. It's a lot easier to say 'yes.'"
McConaughey gets his parenting style from his own father, James. The actor told CNN's Anderson Cooper that his father supported his passion to pursue the film industry as opposed to politics. As McConaughey recalled,
"'Effectively, if that is what you wish to do, do not half-a--- it.' And boy, I've carried that with me. And it is a good adage to have in your hip pocket."
In his People cover story, McConaughey shared an excerpt of his Greenlights memoir revealing that his father, James, died in 1992, just one year before the actor would make his acting debut in Dazed and Confused. McConaughey explained,
"I am making an attempt to instill the identical values that my father instilled in me, in several methods [that] he did with me."
When Cooper asked McConaughey for his perception on parenting, the actor responded,
"They are who they are, and we nudge them alongside, and we shepherd them, and we try to put what they love in front of them and keep them away from great harm. But boy, they are who they are right when they come into the world."
McConaughey also described being content with acting as his only job, and he has no desire to be anywhere else but on our screens. He told E! News,
"I'm really enjoying being an actor for hire [...] I've been offered to produce some things and I've said, 'No thank you.' [...] I'm really enjoying my time getting ready for a role, my man, my characters, going to work, doing my best to nail it, finishing work and going, 'That was a beautiful time. Thank you. See you down the road. I'm going back to my family.'"
It seems that McConaughey is extremely happy being a dedicated family man.
