Grammy nominated artist, Nicole Scherzinger, was once best known for being the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. But these days, she's proving that she's more than just a pretty face. From her humble roots to her multifaceted musical success, here's why Nicole is seriously turning heads. Nicole Scherzinger was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1978. And after her parents split up, her mother got married again and the family relocated to Kentucky. There, her mom worked as a clerk and her stepfather worked as a welder, which makes Scherzinger's early aspirations somewhat of a surprise. She told the Independent, "No one else in my family was creative, a performer. Maybe it was God's will? I just knew that it was going to happen." Scherzinger seemed to sense she was gonna hit it big in showbiz when she first heard one of the greatest singers of all time light up the airwaves. She said, "The moment I heard Whitney Houston sing, I realized that that was what I was going to do as well. I used to sign all my yearbooks in school: 'Remember me when I'm famous.'"
