Super Bowl 55 was the must-watch event of 2021 thus far. But one of the most talked about moments of the event was completely unexpected: the streaker who ran onto the field during the fourth quarter. Although cameras cut away, fans in attendance watched him running for his life, only to give up right before the end zone. He got close to plenty of security, players, and referees, which is concerning, especially since we are in the midst of a raging pandemic. The cops ultimately led him away in handcuffs, which begs the question: what happens to you if you get caught on the field at the Super Bowl? Well, according to USA Today, the fan that interrupted the Super Bowl was Florida resident Yuri Andrade, and he was arrested late Sunday evening by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing. Andrade, who told the department that he is self-employed in international business, was apparently hired by Russian pornography site Vitaly Uncensored to rush the field. This isn't exactly a surprise, as they did the same thing last year with a different streaker. Andrade was released on a $500 cash bond early Monday Morning, and so far, he's not exactly shying away from his time in the limelight on sport's biggest stage - his Instagram account has a few posts about the incident, including one claiming that he is the "king" now. Which is an excellent argument against the monarchy. Plus, he's also been talking to the media about it. Still, though fans are strongly discouraged from entering the field of play, both for their own safety and for the safety of the players the idiotic stunt did catch the attention of fans, including The Rock. And Kevin Harlan's enthusiastic commentary on Westwood One radio has already gone viral, as it provided some of the only entertainment in an otherwise dreary fourth quarter. Not every runner is a marketing gimmick, though. Complex spoke to Dylan Cressy, who rushed the field at the end of a Cubs-Reds game in Cincinnati. The Indiana University student was apprehended by security after just 15 seconds on the field, which wasn't great news for him. That's because In Ohio, if you get arrested for running out onto the field during a sporting event like that, you're looking at up to six months in prison, alongside a $1,000 fine. And that's on the lenient side: in New York City, it's up to a year behind bars and fines of up to $25,000. Runners are also risking potential harm, as one Phillies fan discovered after rushing onto the field in 2010 and being tasered for his troubles. According to Cressy, though, the biggest deterrent by far is the possibility of being banned for life from the stadium. Still, he claims it was worth it to spend a couple seconds with his sporting heroes especially since he ended up getting off without even the fine.
