Matt James FINALLY Addresses Bachelor Controversy & Bachelorette Is Announced! | Hollywire

The new Bachelorette was just announced, plus Bachelor Matt James addressed winner Rachael Kirkconnel’s racism controversy for the first time on television, here’s everything we know! Whether you’re a Bachelor fan or not, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about the racist allegations towards the franchise, which led long-time host Chris Harrison to briefly step down, as Emmanuel Acho stepped in for the after the final rose post-show wrap-up. This season came down to school teacher Michelle Young and graphic designer Rachael Kirkconnell, the latter who was at the center of this racism controversy after photos of her from an antebellum plantation party surfaced which celebrates a time before the civil war during slavery as well as racist social media posts surfaced that Rachael had liked. Chris Harrison then defended Kirkconnel on extra when talking to the first black Bachelorette Rachel Lindsey which led to the announcement that Harrison will not be returning to host the upcoming Bachelorette season, and instead former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlin Bristow will take over. As we report this, we do not know if and when Chris Harrison will return to host the franchise. ⭐
