MEET Karina Rodini, a 29 year old from Curitiba, Brasil who suffers from neurofibromatosis type one, a rare genetic disease which causes tumor growths along the nerves. But life wasn’t always like this for Karina, as her tumors first appeared as a ‘small freckle’ at the age of 1, but has now grown into a 40kg tumor on her leg. After recovering from her last surgery to reduce the size 2 months ago, Karina is now looking for further surgery to reduce the tumor even more. The family are also trying to raise awareness for the condition and hope to raise money to fund her complex surgeries.
