Comcast Exceeds Expectations in Q1, Assisted by Surge in Peacock Subscriptions

It was a solid Q1 for Comcast, which beat Wall Street estimates on most of the key metrics. The media giant’s Cable business was the highlight of the quarter and offset the weakness in its media unit, NBCUniversal. NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock had 42 million sign-ups, up from 33 million in Q4.
