Prince William ‘Sickened’ By ‘Racist Abuse’ Of England’s Soccer Players

Jul 12 2021
Prince William is condemning racist remarks being made against some of England’s national team players. “I am sickened by the racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match. It is totally unacceptable that players have to endure this abhorrent behaviour. It must stop now and all those involved should be held accountable. W,” he wrote. William is taking a stand following the team’s loss to Italy in the Euro 2020 finals Sunday night. Three players in particular have been subject to the abuse online, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho. The soccer players missed their penalty kicks as the game went to a shoot-out. The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson also spoke out. “This England team deserve to be lauded as heroes, not racially abused on social media. Those responsible for this appalling abuse should be ashamed of themselves,” he said.
