Michelle Kwan is one of the most decorated figure skaters in American and Olympic history. Kwan overcame intense adversity during her career. She broke bones, endured media scrutiny, and stuck it out through bitter rivalries, but was still able to medal in two consecutive Olympics (1998 and 2002).
