When Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in 2010, he did so with one stellar piece of jewelry: his deceased mother Diana’s former engagement ring. Fourteen diamonds surround the center jewel: a 12-carat sapphire stunner. The ring was supposedly inspired by a similarly jeweled brooch that was given to Queen Victoria by her husband Prince Albert on their wedding day.
Anyone would be thrilled to receive an engagement ring as unique as this one, and there’s no doubt Kate holds it near and dear to her heart.
