Why The Queen Is Fed Up With Harry And Meghan
Aug 30 2021
Prince Harry is releasing a memoir! But now Queen Elizabeth’s lawyers are getting involved…
Things in the Royal Family have been… iffy, to say the least, especially since The Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to take a temporary-to-permanent step back from their roles as working royals. And though it shocked many people, it wasn’t a snap decision. Harry and Meghan (ahem, mostly Meghan) have received so much backlash from the British media that the couple had to sue multiple news outlets for the harm caused to their family. And that was only part of the issue.
During the oh-so-famous CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan and Harry opened up about some of the issues that occurred behind closed doors. And let’s just say, they brought the receipts. The claims made during the interview ranged from the couple being falsely led to believe they would have protection and security to Meghan’s struggles with her mental health to Harry’s concern for “history repeating itself” to comments regarding how dark their son’s skin color would be. Yeah, we know. It’s 2021 and this is oddly still a concern for some people.
In July, it was announced that Harry would be writing a memoir detailing his life experiences growing up in the royal family in an “accurate” and “wholly truthful” way. And seeing as how he once described his upbringing as a “mix of being in The Truman Show and being in the zoo”, we can only assume his memoir may ruffle a few feathers. Royal feathers, to be exact.
In response, Queen Elizabeth has hired a legal team to be on the safe side as we near the book’s publication. The memoir isn’t set to be released until 2022, but again, we don’t know what details Harry will include. But one thing we do know is this: Whatever he says about the royal family, the Queen will be ready for.
