Over the past 25 years or so, the internet has basically changed everything: commerce, communication, entertainment, and yes, politics. Prominent people landing in hot water over tweeting something they probably shouldn't have, accidentally posting a lewd photo, getting into an ill-advised online romantic relationship, or some other embarrassing thing? It's just a fact of life now.
