The illegal street racing plaguing our suburbs | 60 Minutes Australia
Feb 01 2023
It's fast, furious and deadly. In the past year, dozens of innocent Australians have been killed by hoons. Brainless kids in powerful cars who terrorise the suburbs, turning public streets into race tracks. Sure, it's illegal but that doesn't stop them. It would seem there's not much the police can do about it. Well, there is and it's happening where all this street drag racing began, in the heart of gangland Los Angeles. All-out war, where the cops are tough and take no nonsense from the punks. And, as Peter Overton tells us from first-hand experience, sometimes they get more than they bargain for.
