A man's inspirational fight to live after losing everything in a bushfire | 60 Minutes Australia
Jun 12 2023
The catastrophic bushfires in Victoria in 2009 killed almost 200 people. The land regenerated weeks later, and the survivors slowly reclaimed their lives. To do that, they had to face every day with memories completely unimaginable. Such a man is Darren Gibson. Black Saturday claimed everything in his world - his home, his wife and his children. It's when you hear stories of grief and courage like Darren's that you truly comprehend the enormity of their loss and the bravery of spirit it takes to simply keep on going.
For over forty years, 60 Minutes have been telling Australians the world’s greatest stories. Tales that changed history, our nation and our lives. Reporters Liz Hayes, Tom Steinfort, Tara Brown, Nick McKenzie and Amelia Adams look past the headlines because there is always a bigger picture. Sundays are for 60 Minutes.
