Self-confessed conman attempts to flee the country, sends fake SMS to ex-wife | 60 Minutes Australia
Jun 28 2023
A self-confessed conman was slapped with emergency legal action to stop him from fleeing the country, after the corporate regulator received multiple tip-offs about his plans.
Earlier this year, disgraced financial adviser Kris Ridgway sensationally confessed to #60Mins about defrauding his clients into dud investments.
Two weeks ago, his ex-wife received an SMS from Ridgway, with a photo of Brisbane Airport saying, "Boarding my plane. Don't ever contact me again. Phone about to be thrown in the bin. Gone..."
His ex-wife later found out that Ridgway had been stopped from leaving the country and the photo was taken from a Facebook page.
