In 2009, 19-year-old British backpacker Jamie Neale walked out of the Australian bush safe and, surprisingly, well. Surprising, because he had been lost in the Blue Mountains for almost two weeks. Everyone had given up. Even his family had said their last goodbyes. There's no doubt that Jamie was hopelessly unprepared. You can sure believe him when he says that he might be smart, but he's got no common sense. It's an incredible tale, too good to be true, according to the cynics. So what really happened? Well, here's Jamie's story. And you can decide for yourselves - great survivor or great pretender.
For over forty years, 60 Minutes have been telling Australians the world’s greatest stories. Tales that changed history, our nation and our lives. Reporters Liz Hayes, Tom Steinfort, Tara Brown, Nick McKenzie and Amelia Adams look past the headlines because there is always a bigger picture. Sundays are for 60 Minutes.
