In 2023, the Porsche 911 celebrates its 60th anniversary with the release of the 911 S/T, the most unique version of the 992-gen car to date. This model features a 911 GT3 RS engine in a GT3 Touring body, with a significant 40kg weight reduction achieved through the use of carbon panels, magnesium wheels, and a lighter clutch. The rear-wheel steering has also been removed, all in an effort to create a purer, more authentic driving experience that pays tribute to the origins of this enduring sports car.
The 911 S/T was unveiled in southern Italy, where it was tested for its unique features such as a snatchier clutch, short-throw gearbox, and a rough idle. The question remains whether these changes are madness or genius, but the full review can be found on TopGear.com.
The 911 S/T stands out for its raw power and stripped-back design, offering a driving experience that is both challenging and rewarding. It is compared to the GT3 RS, with the review concluding on the unique features and performance of this special anniversary model.
