Celebrities embrace sexy 'high rise' bikini trend, but fans notice issue
This summer, women are embracing a new swimwear trend known as the "high rise bikini." This trend involves pulling up the bottoms above the waist at the front and back, leaving little to the imagination.
Celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski have been seen sporting this look, but it has sparked discussions about its unrealistic and uncomfortable nature. Kendall recently shared a picture of herself pulling the string of her orange bikini even higher on her waist, prompting mixed reactions from people. Some questioned the purpose of wearing a bikini that leaves nothing to the imagination, while others commented on how revealing it is.
Meanwhile, Lalla Bronshtein, a celebrity stylist from London, has expressed her skepticism towards the high rise trend, deeming it "totally unrealistic". In an interview with The Sun, she stated that the trend, which involves pulling bikini bottoms as high as possible to reveal more skin, requires a significant amount of behind-the-scenes work to achieve the perfect look.
According to Bronshtein, A-listers and reality stars have the advantage of having a team of professionals, including photographers, lighting experts, makeup artists, fashion stylists, and editing software, to ensure that their photos appear flawless. This level of support is what prevents any hair mishaps or unflattering appearances in the images.
Meanwhile, Karina Irby, the owner of the Moana bikini brand, has previously revealed her preference for wearing her bikini waistband high up on her waist as she believes it looks better.
In 2021, she shared side-by-side photos of herself wearing a pink bikini in different styles. In one picture, she wore the bottoms low around her hips, while in the other, she pulled them up high to accentuate her waist. Irby pointed out that changing the styling of the bikini bottom can significantly alter the appearance of one's body. She emphasized that there is no right or wrong way to wear a bikini, as everyone has their own preferences. Irby personally prefers high-waisted bikinis.
Would you be willing to try this trend, or are you concerned about experiencing a front wedgie?
