Manitoba RCMP Crack Cold Case Using DNA Evidence from 17 Years Ago
Jan 30 2024
Chrystal Saunders, a 24-year-old woman, went missing in Winnipeg in April 2007. Her body was found the next day, 100 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg near St. Ambroise, Man. After almost 17 years, 42-year-old Kevin Charles Queau, currently residing in the Vancouver area, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case. The use of advanced DNA technology played a crucial role in the arrest and in linking Queau to the crime. This case serves as a reminder of the relentless efforts made by RCMP investigators to solve murders, although it cannot bring the victim back.
