Sex Work Saved Me: Sober and Earning £12k Monthly
During the global pandemic, Rori Satya, a model, found that becoming an adult content creator helped turn her life around.
Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, Satya, who was battling alcohol and drug addictions, was working as an exotic dancer and felt trapped in a cycle with limited options for change.
She described being surrounded by others who were also struggling with addiction, which made it difficult to envision a brighter future.
Satya explained that the lifestyle she was immersed in normalized and accepted excessive drinking and drug use.

"That's when I came to the realization that I had a problem. Despite my efforts to quit on my own and continue working, I failed miserably. Unfortunately, my addiction only escalated, eventually leading me to the point of being hospitalized.

However, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and businesses shut down in March 2020, I resorted to online sex work as a means to make ends meet. Joining OnlyFans, a well-known platform for adult content creators, surprisingly became a turning point for me in overcoming my addiction."

"I no longer had access to drugs," she explained. "Being in a new environment, my home, allowed me to earn money without the usual expenses that would drain my income."
Operating under the name Aria Butterfly on platforms such as OnlyFans, Instagram, and X, Satya began earning significantly more than her previous job as an exotic dancer. After two years, she was making a monthly income ranging from $8,000 (£6.3k) to $16,000 (£12.7k)."

"She said that many creators use their money to indulge in luxury lifestyles, purchasing designer bags and cars. However, Satya, who is currently studying psychology, expressed that she did not want to appear wealthy. Her goal was to achieve stability and change the trajectory of her own life as well as her younger sister's.
Although she would have preferred not to enter the realm of online sex work, Satya acknowledged that some individuals are passionate about it and enjoy the work, including content creation and other related aspects. However, she emphasized that this industry is not a long-term career and can often become a trap for many people. Satya has witnessed numerous talented individuals become entangled in its grasp."
