Hollywood Actor Mistaken for Sex Worker Due to Size in Intimate Scene

One well-known Hollywood actor, who is known for being "well endowed," had an embarrassing encounter when he was mistaken for a sex worker. Willem Dafoe, star of the film Poor Things, revealed that while he was out with his theatre troupe, The Wooster Group, in Manhattan, he was mistaken for a stripper or something more scandalous.

The group had created a performance using traditional Hawaiian costumes and dances, with the twist being that they were not wearing anything under their grass skirts. This show became quite popular, but things took a turn for the worse when they were invited to perform at a private party.

Willem recalled, "They offered us a significant amount of money, maybe around a thousand bucks each. At that time, we were all struggling financially, so it was like, 'Wow! Yeah, we can definitely do that.'"

Excitedly, we attended the party, hastily changing into our outfits in the restroom. However, we ended up performing without the planned set, only accompanied by the music and our improvised costumes.

Jason Bateman, the podcast host, jokingly asked, "Did they start throwing dollar bills at you?" Willem responded, "Yes! And towards the end, people started approaching us, saying, 'Alright, let's go! Come with me!' They mistook us for strippergrams and more!"

In one review of the Hula piece, Dafoe was described as "rhythmically rippling his muscles" alongside his co-stars Kate Valk and Ron Vawter. This wasn't the first time Dafoe almost showcased his impressive physique, however.

During his role in the 2009 horror film Antichrist, directed by Lars von Trier, Dafoe offered to do a nude sex scene. However, his well-endowed nature led the director to hire porn actors for unsimulated sex scenes instead. Dafoe commented at the time, "Lars used a porn actor for those scenes."

"It was a wise decision because if I had been the one to do it, that would be the only thing people would talk about. Clearly, Lars wants the characters to have genitals, but it would become a distraction: 'Oh, they really had sex!' If he had asked me to do it, I don't know what my response would have been."

According to the British Board of Film Classification, the movie is clearly intended for adult audiences due to its theme and tone. It contains explicit scenes of real sex, graphic violence, gory images, and a self-mutilation scene. The film includes "images of genital contact" and "unsimulated penetration," leading to its 18 rating. Some viewers were so repulsed by the movie that they walked out of screenings, criticizing it as "misogynistic."
