Dakota Johnson's Unrecognizable The Office Cameo Before Fame

Feb 25 2024

Many Dakota Johnson fans may be surprised to learn that the actress made a cameo appearance on The Office. In the show, she played a character with the same name who was hired as Kevin's replacement after he was fired by Dwight. Dakota's character was depicted as a young, tall blonde who flirted with Clark, a new Customer Service Representative at Dunder Mifflin.

According to The Office's wiki page, Dakota's character was curious about a strange mark Kevin had made on his forms, which turned out to be the fictional number "Keleven" that led to Kevin's dismissal.

The description goes on to mention that she is observed flirting with Clark, who reciprocates her advances both in the office and at their after party.

Despite only appearing in two scenes in the iconic show's finale, her role may have been overlooked by many.

In 2013, the final episode of The Office aired, two years before Dakota Johnson became well-known for her role as Anastasia Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey franchise.

At that time, Dakota was an emerging actor, with previous roles in films such as The Social Network, 21 Jump Street, and The Five Year Engagement.

During a 2012 interview, Johnson revealed that her appearance on The Office was intended to set up a potential spin-off series focusing on the employees after the departure of the main characters. However, the spin-off never materialized.

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Dakota admitted that her time on set was not enjoyable. She expected to only be there for a short period, but ended up spending two weeks on set with minimal screen time. She was often seen in the background, faxing documents in various scenes.
