In the early hours of a cold November night in 2011, police discovered Leanne Freeman unconscious in a pool of blood. She tragically passed away in a downtown hospital, marking Toronto's 42nd homicide of the year. Freeman, a 23-year-old with a troubled past, lived a solitary life on the streets of the city, battling drug addiction. She was associated with a group known as "The Crystal Circle", involved in the use and distribution of crystal meth, and members of this group were suspected in her untimely death.
