"16 and Pregnant Star Dies in Tragic Accident, Leaving Two Children Behind"
Sean Garinger, a 20-year-old MTV star known for his appearance on the show 16 and Pregnant, tragically passed away in an ATV accident. The incident occurred on February 28 outside of his home in Boone, N.C., when the ground gave way due to rain and mud, causing his ATV to flip and crush his skull.
Garinger, who documented his journey to fatherhood on the show with his ex Selena Gutierrez, leaves behind two children, Dareli and Esmi. Gutierrez was also featured on the show as one of five expecting teenagers whose experiences were shared on the programme.
According to his mother, speaking to The Sun US, her son was simply moving the ATV from one parking spot to another for her, so she could park. As he was parking the ATV in front of her, the ground gave way due to the rain and mud, causing the ATV to flip over and resulting in severe head injuries for her son.
Desperately seeking help from neighbors to lift the ATV off her son, no one responded. She rushed back to her son, only to realize he had passed away. She recounted how she lay beside him on the ground until the ambulance arrived. She expressed the immense pain of losing her only son, her source of strength and support. "There was a huge part of my heart that died with my son on Wednesday," she said.
Garinger was prepared to buy a vehicle to visit his daughters in Colorado, who live with their mother and grandmother, according to his partner Hobbs. They had visited a car dealership earlier that day and had planned to return, but they never made it back.
Hobbs mentioned that Garinger enjoyed spontaneous road trips and adventures, bonding over music, fast cars, and shooting guns. She described him as her baby boy and heartbeat, saying he brightened her world like no one else could.
The Watauga County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Garinger was the victim of a fatal ATV accident, where the ATV landed on top of him after he tried to move it and it went off an embankment.
The ATV accident that resulted in Garinger's tragic death occurred when he was attempting to move the vehicle and it rolled off an embankment, as reported by the sheriff's office. In a statement, the WCSO expressed their condolences, stating, "Our hearts are filled with sadness for the family and loved ones of the victim."
