Kate Beckinsale is setting the record straight regarding rumors of plastic surgery following her extended hospital stay.
Addressing the speculation on Instagram, the actress revealed that she has been accused of undergoing cosmetic procedures multiple times over the years.
"I hate discussing this topic, but I feel compelled to speak up because persistent bullying can have a detrimental impact," Beckinsale, 50, shared, along with two video clips taken two decades apart.
"Every time I share something online, I am bombarded with accusations of undergoing unrecognizable surgery, using Botox, or being fixated on looking younger. It's a hurtful and insidious form of bullying," she expressed.
Beckinsale revealed that critics often comment, "You look unrecognizable" or "You don't even resemble yourself anymore," with most of the negative remarks coming from women.
She went on to disclose her struggles with severe anxiety and panic attacks during her teenage and early adult years, fearing she would suffer the same fate as her father, who passed away when she was young.
Comparing the two videos, Beckinsale pointed out differences in her appearance, attributing them to changes in makeup techniques and natural aging.
Following her recent hospitalization, Beckinsale appeared rejuvenated at the King's Trust 2024 Global Gala, where she addressed the ongoing criticism she faces online.
Despite acknowledging that her post may not deter the haters, Beckinsale emphasized the importance of ending baseless accusations and age-related bullying.
Supportive fans and fellow celebrities commended Beckinsale for her honesty and resilience, condemning the behavior of online bullies.
Beckinsale's decision to speak out comes after her discharge from the hospital following an undisclosed illness, which she documented on social media.
While recovering at home, Beckinsale hinted at her condition by wearing a shirt that read, "Tummy troubles survivor," she
