Security Guard Shot Outside Drake's Toronto Mansion
Drake's security guard was shot overnight outside the rapper's $100 million Toronto mansion in what witnesses have described as a drive-by shooting.
The 48-year-old guard was struck around 2:10 a.m. ET by multiple gunshots, one of which landed in his upper chest, according to reports.
An ambulance transported the unconscious victim to Sunnybrook Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police could not confirm if Drake was inside the house at the time of the shooting, which took place in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood.
Authorities remain on the scene, surrounding the property with yellow tape. A representative for Drake declined to comment on the incident.
The shooting outside Drake's mansion occurs amidst his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.
Lamar and Drake have been exchanging diss tracks in recent weeks following the breakdown of their former friendship.
In one of his tracks, Lamar accused Drake of having a "hidden daughter," prompting the Canadian rapper to dismiss the claim on social media.
Drake, who previously kept his son's identity private, was exposed by rapper Pusha T in a diss track. Since then, he has embraced his role as a father.
Additionally, Lamar alleged Drake of being a "pedophile" in another track, to which the rapper responded with a denial in his own song.
