Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Custody Battle Continues to Unfold

May 10 2024

The legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie regarding Chateau Miraval continues to unravel more information about the tumultuous relationship between the two Hollywood stars.

In the most recent court filing in the winery dispute, a former security guard for the couple claims that Angelina Jolie was overheard instructing their children to avoid their father, Brad Pitt, during custody visits.

The former security guard, Tony Webb, who has a background in providing security services for high-profile individuals, stated in court documents filed by Pitt's legal team that he had worked for Jolie and her family from 2000 to 2020, and currently provides security services for Pitt.

Webb alleges that part of his responsibilities while working for the couple included overseeing security for Jolie and the family during their international travels, as well as ensuring individuals signed non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for Jolie, including hotel staff.

Following Pitt and Jolie's separation in 2016, Webb's security firm continued to provide services for Jolie and her children, as the former couple engaged in a lengthy legal battle over custody of their six kids.

Webb recounted a situation where Jolie's assistant requested him to prevent two independent contractors from testifying in the family court case, as they had allegedly overheard statements made by Jolie to the children, encouraging them to avoid spending time with Pitt during custody visits.

Despite the assistant's request, the individuals were subpoenaed and testified in the family law case, revealing the alleged instructions given by Jolie to the children.

The ongoing legal dispute between Pitt and Jolie also involves disagreements over NDAs, with Jolie arguing against disclosing all her past NDAs to Pitt in their battle over the $500 million winery.

Pitt's legal team claims that Jolie is attempting to divert the focus of the dispute towards family court matters, using the NDA proposal as a central point in the case.

The legal proceedings include Pitt's request to reverse Jolie's 2021 sale of her stake in Chateau Miraval to a billionaire, alleging a breach of their agreement for her to sell to him.

A hearing in the Los Angeles case is scheduled for May 16, with a full trial not expected to take place this year. The Miraval case is also being litigated in a Luxembourg court.

The former couple's battle over the vineyard they purchased in 2008 has been ongoing since Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, with tensions escalating over various legal and personal matters.
