Travis Kelce's Thoughtful Gift for Taylor Swift at the Kentucky Derby

May 13 2024

When Travis Kelce flew to Paris to support Taylor Swift at her Eras Tour, he made sure to bring back a special souvenir from the Kentucky Derby.

During his time in Louisville, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end selected a stunning Derby Gold and Diamond Horseshoe Necklace ($1,495) from S. R. Blackinton, the renowned family business responsible for crafting the Derby trophy for many years.

Co-owners Susanne Blackinton-Juaire and Skyla Blackinton shared that they gifted Kelce the limited-edition necklace, crafted from reclaimed 14-karat gold sourced from this year's Derby trophy production, as a token of appreciation for Swift, who was preparing for her tour and couldn't attend the event.

"Our family has been involved in making the trophy since 1975, and upon hearing that Travis would be at the Derby, we wanted to present a few special pieces to commemorate this significant year for both of them," the duo explained.

Engraved with a hidden message at the bottom that reads "Wishing you good luck," the necklace, adorned with six round brilliant-cut diamonds, is part of the brand's 2024 Derby Gold Jewelry Collection, featuring a range of exquisite designs inspired by traditional jockey pins from early-1900s Europe.

Skyla expressed her excitement about the collection, stating, "[It's something my mother and I have envisioned and worked on for years," highlighting the significance of using the same gold as the Derby trophy in creating these pieces.

In addition to the necklace, Kelce also acquired a pair of sterling silver sippers embellished with the horseshoe-wishbone motif, allowing the couple to relax with a few mint juleps amidst Swift's busy concert schedule.
