The season will see a civil war within House Targaryen, with supporters divided between Aegon II (Greens) and Rhaenyra (Blacks). Rhaenyra controls Dragonstone, while Aegon II sits on the Iron Throne with his allies, including his brother Aemond and sister-wife Helaena. Aemond's loyalty to his brother is questioned, with theories suggesting he may be the father of Helaena's children. The Season 1 finale events involving Aemond and Vhagar's attack will have consequences in Season 2. Aemond's arc and Helaena's development are hinted at by the show's creators.
