Conjoined Twins Given 24 Hours to Live - A Remarkable Family Story
Jun 17 2024
Conjoined twins Callie and Carter Torres were born attached at the pelvis, sharing all organs from the belly button down and having a single leg each. The girls, residing in Blackfoot, Idaho, are omphalo-ischiopagus twins, a rare type comprising less than five percent of conjoined twins worldwide. Only 40 to 60 percent of conjoined twins survive past birth, but as their second birthday approaches, Callie and Carter's health continues to improve, much to the joy of their parents, Chelsea and Nick Torres.
