Joe Jonas Dodges Singing Sophie Turner Reference at Jonas Brothers Concert Amid Divorce Drama
It seems like things are still a bit frosty between them.
Joe Jonas skillfully sidestepped singing about Sophie Turner while rocking out with his brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas at the Festival d'été de Québec over the weekend.
The Jonas Brothers electrified the Bell Stage at the renowned festival, belting out crowd favorites like "Hold On," "What a Man Gotta Do," "Year 3000," "S.O.S.," and "Cool." Notably, the latter track includes a subtle nod to Joe's estranged wife.
Instead of crooning the lyrics "Oh, I feel like Post Malone when I get home / Sittin' there, winnin' like it's 'Game of Thrones,'" the DNCE frontman tactfully turned away from the mic, steering clear of any direct references to the HBO hit show, a festival attendee shared with us. (Turner shot to fame portraying Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones.")
While it remains uncertain whether Joe, 34, intentionally skipped over the line, the audience eagerly filled in, shouting out the lyrics as usual.
A representative for the singer did not immediately respond to our inquiry.
The JoBros had the crowd jumping, clapping, and grooving along to their tunes as they owned the stage at the Canadian festival. They even involved the audience in their performance, featuring a kiss cam highlighting couples in the crowd during their rendition of "When You Look Me in the Eyes."
Prior to the band's set, other artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, 50 Cent, and Nickelback also graced the Bell Stage with their performances.
Joe's decision to steer clear of mentioning Turner, 28, comes nearly a year after he initiated divorce proceedings following their four-year marriage.
Reports at the time suggested that the actress's social life played a role in their split, along with some contentious footage captured on their Ring camera where she allegedly spoke ill of her husband.
Shortly after, Turner filed a lawsuit against Joe, seeking the return of their two daughters—Willa, 3, and Delphine, 2—to her native England, alleging that he had "abducted" them and confiscated their passports to prevent them from leaving the United States.
In October 2023, the former couple reached a temporary and "amicable resolution" in their custody battle.
In a surprising turn of events, the Grammy nominee moved to dismiss their divorce shortly after their custody mediation, where they agreed to resolve their issues privately. However, the "Dark Phoenix" star filed to "re-activate" the case in March after failing to reach agreements on custody and property matters.
Since then, Turner has found love with English aristocrat Peregrine "Perry" John Dickinson Pearson, whom she has been dating since October 2023.
As for Joe, he has been romantically linked to model Stormi Bree and actress Laila Abdallah.
