Kristin Cavallari Spills the Tea on MTV's Manipulation of 'Laguna Beach' Stars
Kristin Cavallari is not holding back when it comes to her time on MTV's hit reality show, "Laguna Beach." The former star recently revealed that she felt the network manipulated the young cast members, including herself, during their time on the show.
In a candid interview with Bustle, Cavallari expressed her thoughts on how MTV took advantage of the cast members, stating, "I thought I was the only one who got the s--tty end of the deal, but later realized they f--ked with everybody."
Reflecting on her experience, Cavallari acknowledged that being a teenager while on the show helped her discover who she wanted to become as she grew older. "At that age, 17, 18, no one really knows who they are, but it definitely made me be like, 'I am not that girl on TV,'" she shared.
Despite the challenges she faced, Cavallari remains grateful for the opportunities the show provided. "I’m so thankful for the show. I think it can be both things — I can feel like we were taken advantage of, and I can also be thankful for it," she said.
While Cavallari admitted that MTV's manipulation had a lasting impact on her, she wouldn't change a thing about her experience. "Everything has worked out the way it’s supposed to, and it’s gotten me where I am today," she added.
After her time on "Laguna Beach," Cavallari went on to join the cast of "The Hills" from 2006 to 2010. Recently, she reunited with her "Laguna Beach" co-stars to launch her brand's nostalgic Back to Laguna line, showcasing aughts-inspired designs alongside her former castmates.
Joining forces with ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti, Talan Torriero, Jason Wahler, and others, Cavallari reminisced about their time on the show in a heartwarming reunion. The group paid tribute to the iconic MTV series with a nostalgic video that captured the essence of their Laguna Beach days.
