Ugandan Olympian Rebecca Cheptegei, aged 33, tragically died in a fire incident allegedly caused by her boyfriend. Cheptegei, who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, suffered burns on 70% of her body. The incident took place at her home in Kenya, where her boyfriend Dickson Ndiema reportedly poured petrol on her and set her on fire during a dispute. Cheptegei finished 44th in the women's marathon at the 2024 Olympics.
