The McMurtry Spéirling is a new car that utilizes fans to create significant downforce. Weighing 1000kg and producing 1000 electric horsepower, the fans can generate 2000kg of downforce from 0mph by spinning at up to 23,000rpm. It recently set a record-breaking time at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed, surpassing a McLaren Formula 1 car's time from 1999. Top Gear's Head of Car Testing, Ollie Marriage, recently tested it at the Top Gear Test Track.
