Local FBI Agent's Son Charged with Murder of 13-Year-Old
In a recent development, Albuquerque Police Department detectives have brought charges against Thomas Acee, a 21-year-old individual, in connection with the tragic shooting that claimed the life of 13-year-old Michael Tubb earlier this summer. The incident took place near 5th St SW and Gold Avenue SW, resulting in the untimely death of Tubb and injuring a teenage girl.
Acee, who is no stranger to criminal activities in the area, has a troubling history. Previously, he was accused of causing significant damage to the Alvarado Square building in a shooting incident and was also involved in another shooting at an apartment. Despite facing trial for these charges, Acee managed to evade conviction. Moreover, in 2024, he faced charges of DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, and negligent use of a deadly weapon, which were later dismissed due to procedural issues.
Following intensive investigations, detectives arrested Michael Flores, 22, in October for Tubb's murder after tracing the vehicle he was driving during the fatal event. Subsequent inquiries revealed that Acee was present alongside Flores during the shooting. Allegedly, Acee fired multiple rounds at the victims' vehicle, leading to the tragic outcome. Additionally, Acee was also linked to a separate apartment shooting in 2022 that resulted in injuries to several individuals.
What adds a chilling twist to this narrative is the revelation that Thomas Acee is the son of FBI Special Agent Bryan Acee, known for his involvement in various high-profile cases. The connection between the accused and a figure of authority has raised eyebrows and intensified public interest in the case.
Today, homicide detectives secured a warrant against Acee, charging him with a range of serious offenses including murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and several counts of tampering with evidence. The charges also include conspiracy to commit tampering with evidence and attempted felony murder, painting a grave picture of the events surrounding the shooting.
